I assume that "doesn't work" means that the χ is not echoed to the terminal... AND that the cursor does not move to the right? What happens when you temporarily remap χ (Chi/x03c7) to a different key combo - one that is known to work..? ... or conversely map a different character to the key combo you have assigned to χ..?
