Hovering over the APL characters in the *gnu-apl keymap* buffer displays a tool-tip that says: "mouse 1: Show documentation ... / mouse 2: Insert ...".
On my system (Emacs 24.3.1), all mouse buttons (1, 2 and 3) cause the clicked character to be inserted.
