Some years ago I've been using Braillex el Trio and BRLTTY with no problem
at all. Keyboard input and navigation controls worked without problem.

I can confirm that brltty's Papenmeier driver (no special version for a
Trio) should be able to support a Trio. I don't know if it's ever been
actually tested. If there's a problem, it should be easy to resolve.
