That's strange. I use my PAC Mate display all day on the weekends and
a good number of hours on week nights and have never had that
trouble. I wonder if it's a hardware problem for you? My distro is
Ubuntu 8.04.3 with all the updates.
Presumably you've kept your operating system up-to-date. Have you
tried a different cable to see if that helps? Or a different computer?
If you've been using subversion for awhile you might try removing your
brltty directory and checking out a fresh copy. I think the directory
can get a bit impure over time. Also, when I do the install I do:
killall brltty && rm -fr /etc/brltty && make -s uninstall && make -s install &&
brltty
That keeps the installed directories clean. I'm not a C programmer and
don't know how cluttered directories would affect anything, but
keeping them pristine can't hurt.
