I still don't understand the maning of that manoeuver: my Alva Satellite is an USB, NOT "seerial to whatever", so I don't understand the meaning of it; I only see things in brltty.conf who are not usable by real usb displays, nor from serial displays nor from whatever display. But I wrote your message where you todl me about how to get rid of the infernal message at boot time: that's also something I absolutely not understand the meaning: why should he ask for something who's already configured and reconfigured ? why not refering to Gutsy's way of working + correcting the bugs caused by the /Etc/init.d/brltty or other script who still was overwriting your brltty.conf ? Whe only way to do this and to fix is, is by following the way Debian does. Or as Dave said a few mails ago, you have to make more proposals in the F5 or so. But it would be nice to delete the braille=ask question from grub: taht's the way a standing alone blind could hem himself at that moment: I got chance that I got some sighted person sometimes here. OK Luke there is no perfection in this world, but the right solution is the one who causes the lesser problems for a great cathegory I think so.
