Don't rule out hardware problems too. The fact that other people have used other BrailleNotes is heartening, but until _you_ use _your_ BrailleNote on _your_ computer you don't really know that yours works.
Since you've been on Linux for several years, that means you've got a stable system with which you're familiar and you can save your work (as opposed to a live CD). Try things one step at a time. On that stable, familiar system, get the brltty tarball and install that. See if that works. Once you know you have a working system (no cable problems, no port problems...) then you can start with this esoteric live CD stuff. -- Lee Maschmeyer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "Be kind to your fur-bearing friends, For a skunk may be somebody's brother." --Fred Allen _______________________________________________ This message was sent via the BRLTTY mailing list.
