Thing is, religion is subjective. Some "spiritual beliefs" are treated as religion too. There are genuine Scientology Believers out there. We know their belief is based on a bunch of fiction and lies, but they still believe. In that sense, to those people, Scientology is religion. Your comparison isn't valid, because while independently verifiable facts (such as the roundness of the planet...) are one thing, religions are based on unverifiable precepts, and so just because the precept is misguided, wrong or a flat out fabrication, that says little about the religiosity of adherents. So if someone says they believe Scientology is true, then they're religious and Scientology is their religion. Correctness and religion don't operate on the same axes, I have come to discover. :-) > >> >> It's still a perverse, corrupt and dangerous organisation, however. >> > > Sure, and that is why I will be at the Texas Republican convention > this > weekend, protesting Scilon. > This Saturday is operation Sea Arrrgh, drawing attention to the Sea > Org. Hopefully their influence can be diminished. Charlie. _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
