Yeah, I hear Bowmore no longer malts all of their own barley, although they do still operate their own maltings, unlike some of the other distilleries these days .. :D But yes, there's a world of difference between Islay and the highland single malts. (The joy of beer and spirits geekery is a rather unique one.
