They are much clearer and more easily followed instructions than those  
that come with most things these days :-) My Casio watch has such a  
useless UI that I have to get the manual out twice a year for daylight  
savings on/off.

I think some people have decided that they can't understand how to use  
gadgets after a few bad experiences and stop trying. After finding  
that their microwave oven or DVD player has inscrutable instructions  
they just give up on everything :-)
