The deforestation in Brazil has _zero_ correlation with AGW
prevention, biofuels, or anything like that. It's just the
continuous push of civilization against forests, the same
event that devastated European forests 500 years ago and
USA forests 200 years ago.

FWIW, I will repeat _again_: the rainforest is 3000 km or
so away from the sugarcane areas. Or, in terms that
geographically-challenged people may understand: the
rainforest is about the same distance from the sugarcane
area as it is from _Florida_.

Also, biofuels have _almost zero_ impact on the agflation.
Anyone who is not mathematically challenged can compute
the area dedicated to biofuels, and the area dedicated to
food. The agflation is caused, primarily, by those damned
300 million chinese, indians, and africans that decided
that they want to eat.

The irony of it is that the same guys who were putting
import barriers are now crying against the export barries.
And the same guys who claimed that import barriers were
an evil things are now supporting export barriers.
