I have never been a fan of taking time during the service for the 
ushers to pass the plate(s), followed by the congregation rising and 
singing "Praise God From Whom All Ble$$ing$ Flow," and then someone 
counting it up and posting the total on the board at the front of the 
chapel before the end of the meeting.  Handing a small (#6-3/4?) grey 
envelope to the bishop or one of his counselors in his office or when 
you run into him in the hall seems more in keeping with the passage 
you cite . . .
