You probably know more than you realize about Philip K. Dick. He wrote "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," which inspired Bladerunner. "Minority Report" was based on his short story of the same name. "Total Recall" was inspired by "We Can Remember it for You Wholesale." Perhaps more important than any of that, he was doing post-modern before it was cool, raising questions of what's real and what is simulated long before "The Matrix" and its ilk played with such ideas.
