I've read his first two novels _Grimus_ and _Midnight's Children_ and have the next two in my 'to be read' pile where they have been for the last 20+ years. _Grimus_ is an above average fantasy novel. _Midnight's Children_ is a magical realist novel about the creation of modern India. Of the two I haven't read _The Satanic Verses_ is the one that got Rushdie a fatwah. You should probably start with _Midnight's Children_ as it's his most highly regarded work and I found it very readable unlike his later stuff. -- William T Goodall Mail : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web : http://www.wtgab.demon.co.uk Blog : http://radio.weblogs.com/0111221/ "I believe OS/2 is destined to be the most important operating system, and possibly program, of all time." - Bill Gates, 1987 _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
