Here in Rio de Janeiro, we had some lines of street cars, they were dismantled, and nobody cried for them - they caused more harm than good. Maybe electric cars became more expensive than oil-based cars - and probably they are still more expensive now, because most of world's electricity comes from oil or from dirty, slave-labour and polluting coal.
