Merely interesting. And the segue off the subject was irresistable...

I've not really settled in to watching Australian "soccer" - because  
the league is fairly new the teams have this sort of manufactured  
quality, and the rubbish team names are symptomatic of that. Still,  
it was a sell-out 55k crowd for the final, and Melbourne have been  
getting 40 - 50k watching them all season, so the interest in the  
domestic league, combined with Australia's good run in the World Cup  
last year and their move to the Asian football confederation (a move  
likely to see the Oceania confederation disbanded or absorbed by Asia  
to form an Asia-Pacific confederation, in my opinion) means that the  
future is bright for Australian football.

I may get a season ticket next season and go to some games...
