It doesn't get much worse than it was last week for me, a woeful 5-8 on
the picks.. I am nothing, however, if not persistent...

Jacksonville at Philadelphia - The Eagles have lost two in a row, their
second and third losses of the season on the last play of the game.
With the Jaguars playing their backup QB, its very hard to see them
upending the Eagles in a must-win game for them. Pick: EAGLES

Atlanta at Cincinnati - The Falcons showed a serious flaw last week
against the Steelers, with Ben Roethlisberger and Charlie Batch throw
for some big passing plays - Carson Palmer must be salivating. Pick:
BENGALS

Arizona at Green Bay - The Cardinals have been woeful this year, but the
Packers have been literally picking some WR's off the street this week
to play for Brett Favre. Pick: CARDINALS

Houston at Tennessee - The Texans got a big home upset over the Jaguars
last week, but they look like a classic "Jekyll and Hyde" team - decent
at home, and horrible on the road. Pick: TITANS

Seattle at Kansas City - Its come to this, Seneca Wallace vs. Brodie
Croyle at QB. The problem for the Seahawks is that they are playing
without Shawn Alexander too.. Its probably just too much for the
defending NFC Champs to overcome. Pick: CHIEFS

Baltimore at New Orleans - The Saints have been a great story, but the
Ravens have lost two in a row, and that monster defense should give the
Saints some problems. Pick: RAVENS

Tampa Bay at NY Giants - The Bucs may be as close a thing to a random
walk in the NFL, with their last few games ending on an amazing Reggie
Bush punt return, a ball being fumbled just a split second after
crossing the endzone, and a 62 yard field goal. I wouldn't be shocked
if they find another heart-stopping way to end this one, but I'll take
the safe pick: GIANTS

San Francisco at Chicago - I usually avoid the point spreads in this
thing, but one random thought. Has a team that failed to score a
single offensive touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals and had six
turnovers against the same ever been favored by 16.5 points the next
week????? Of course, all that means is that the Niners just * might*
keep it within two touchdowns. Pick: BEARS

St. Louis at San Diego - Both teams had tough losses last week, but I
think the Chargers are just slightly better, and they're at home. Pick:
CHARGERS

NY Jets at Cleveland - The Browns have to win one at some point right?
The Jets are getting big for their britches at 4-2, thanks to the AFC
East's cupcake schedule draw this year. Pick: BROWNS UPSET SPECIAL

Indianapolis at Denver - Everyone is thinking that the Colts aren't as
good this year, and that this is where the Colts will stumble. Looking
at the Broncos, though, they have issues on offense of their own.
Plus, I'll take Peyton Manning over Jake Plummer every day when it comes
to managing a close game. Pick: COLTS

Pittsburgh at Oakland - Even Charlie Batch, if he plays, can't bring the
Steelers down to the Raiders' level. Pick: STEELERS

Dallas at Carolina - The Giants proved last week that Drew Bledsoe just
can't handle a big time pass rush. So, bring in Tony Romo, right?
Eh, all Tony Romo did was throw three more interceptions - in one half!
Julius Peppers, start your engines. Pick: PANTHERS

New England at Minnesota - The Vikings have really surprised me by
getting some tough road wins in Washington and Seattle, and blowing a
road game in Buffalo. That might spell upset for New England, but the
Patriots are a team that has quietly been getting better all season.
Pick: PATRIOTS
