There was a light breeze, but that's not what I said. I said there's plenty of draught. The fire sucks its own air in buildings - stairwells and shafts act like chimneys.

As for the rest - I'm not sure heat was the most important factor. In fact, I'm pretty sure the planes flying into the structure weakened it enough that it might well have come down. Big explosion in the South Tower. But I think that fires in a number of locations could have weakened the already stressed members enough to turn a badly damaged building into a big pile of rubble.
