Hi Rich, It is more of a "flying visit" than a full-blown return for me. I've got a couple of things I'm doing with my life right now, and to make time its meant taking a bit of a break from Internet discussion forums. I'll be back someday, I imagine, though.... Anyhow, as Nick hinted I was away for three months on an around-the- world plane ticket. The idea being that you can start flying in one direction, and you can keep going so long as you never reverse course. I managed to stop by 19 different countries on every inhabited continent - and even met Alberto's family in Rio de Janeiro. From Rio de Janeiro I went to Iguazu Falls (perhaps one of the Top 10 most amazing places on Earth in my book), and then travelled across Argentina by bus to Buenos Aires. >From South America, I hop-scotched across the pond to Europe, visiting a lot of the most famous Catholic destinations in Europe, including a trip to Catholic World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany. On my way out of Egypt, I stopped briefly in Egypt before making way to Borneo in Malaysia. The highlight there was staying at the Batang Ai Hilton Resort in the middle of nowhere for a whopping $25 a night! Some of my favorite places were probably my last stops, though. I swung down through Melbourne, Australia, spent a few days in New Zealand, and then finished up a week each in the Kingdom of Tonga and in American Samoa. I don't have a blog of the trip, as in the age of Google, I didn't want to advertise publicly that my apartment would be empty for three months. I do have a Yahoo! Group, though: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JDGRTW and you can read my archived postings there.
