Losing drives when moving a machine happened to me twice last year.
Once when moving my machine across the room to a new desk and then
again when we moved to another apartment (Just before Rita and just
after Katrina).

Now that I think of it, there were 2 additional crashes, one of which
was related to a PC upgrade 2 weeks ago. But out of four dead drives I
only needed to replace 2 of them fortunately.

I have had suspicions that voltage fluctuations have been leading to
drive crashes here. I never had such problems previously and even the
nice little UPS I have my PC on (the other PCs are on their own <G>)
has not been helpful, though I fully expected that it would.
