I finished it last week. I enjoyed it even though it had a high suspension of disbelief factor(IMO). Simmons writes well and builds wonderful constructs and interesting characters so while the story isn't extraordinary, I'd recommend the book(s).
I'd be interested what you might think about the crew and the mission of the ballistic missile submarine in the context of recent events.
