I'm glad to read that KoD is more focused than several
of the WoT series, and look forward to reading it.
And while some of Edding's offerings are slipshod
'let's see if it will bring in a few bucks' (frex:
Polgara the Sorceress), I really enjoyed the Belgariad
as escapist fantasy.
Just finished _Becoming Alien_ by ?Rebecca Ore? --
needed a bit more editing, but I found it very
intriguing, with a couple of neat non-human races.
Her avian-sapients didn't have a sense of humor either
(re: Gubru), but I think someone needs to Uplift crows
or magpies: they definitely enjoy practical joking!
