Thanks for the clarification. I haven't read the book, but a conservative friend of Peggy's recommended it to her and I pointed out that Crichton seemed to be playing to the conservative "Global Warming is a Crock" crowd just to draw more attention to himself...
I know that people around here seem to favor a certain Sci-fi writer whose name is NOT Crichton, but is he widely regarded as a crackpot, or is it just us B?
