The interpretation of the data is subjective: I would suppose that higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion would _cause_ people to go to Church, not the opposite.
Just like in Roman times, the places where the Christian Church prospered were those with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and infanticide.
