Houston seems to be operating on the assumption that it will see a
permanant 100k-150k increase in its population from people migrating from
New Orleans. I find it worthwhile that a number of city and county leaders
are talking up the migration as a long term good for the city.

That's good. Austin seems to be planning on absorbing a lot of folks
for the 6-24-month term, at least, and if anyone wants to stay beyond
that, they'll be welcome to do so. (I'm guessing we'll end up seeing in
the neighborhood of 30K or more, but some of them will leave in a month
or two.)
