I am aware of where it is from.
I am also pointing out that not only is it borderline offensive, but it is absolutely false.
With all due respect, though, John, I suspect that the Catholic church is like many (most? all?) other churches in that there are a number of subjects where what the average member in the pew thinks the church teaches on that particular subject is not necessarily the same as what the church officially teaches on that subject. Much less an outsider . . .
