Why not? You know what kind of processor you have and there are only a few kind of heat sinks.

The instructions for installing the new one will probably give you a good idea of how to remove the old one.
One thing to know, though, is that you will probably also need heat transfer goop (or paste, as it is generally called) or tape. Paste is harder to use but does a better job if applied properly. Tape is much easier to use.
