Another solid effort last week at 11-5, bringing me to 100-76 for the year.
Last week I eschewed my own Buffalo Bills and went with the inept
Baltimore Ravens in the Buffalo Specials, and the Upset Special ineptly
fell to 5-7.

Carolina at New Orleans - The Saints actually played some inspired football
in Atlanta last week, while the Panthers pulled out a surprising win over
the Bucs at hom in a very wild and fluky game. The Panthers will have
much better coaching in ths one, but I think they're too injury-riddled to
win four in a row. Pick: SAINTS

Houston at NY Jets - The Bills' playoff hopes could really use a win here,
but with Chad Pennington coming back, its hard to see the Texans' defense
holding up. Pick: JETS

Minnesota at Chicago - The Bears trot out Chad Hutchinson this week at QB,
their 4th of the season, who couldn't even hang onto a job in QB-starved
Dallas. This shouldn't be pretty. Pick: VIKINGS

New England at Cleveland - The Browns, meanwhile, are also going with their
3rd-String QB, and without RB Lee Suggs, oh yeah, and they fired their
coach. Yes, the Browns will be up for the Super Bowl Champs, but an
interim Head Coach upending Belichick in his first game? Pick: PATRIOTS

Atlanta at Tampa Bay - That was an incredible choke-job by the Bucs in
Carolina last week.... and just like that they tossed their Kicker, Martin
Grammatica, out on the street. This week Michael Vick and the Falcons
exorcise all the demons of Tampa Bay's recent domination in this series.
Pick: FALCONS

Arizona at Detroit - It really makes you wonder how an Arizona team that
hasa golden opportunity to sneak into a wildcard slot in the empty NFC - or
even better a division title in the NFC West, where 8-8 could be enough -
and then bench first their starting QB, but then also their 2nd string QB,
and they're now trotting out John Navarre - a rookie, late-round draft
pick. (When was the last time rookies drafted as low as Craig Krenzel and
Navarre started in the same season?) Oh yeah, and starting at RB for the
injured Emmit Smith is undrafted rookie Larry Croom. Pick: LIONS

Tennessee at Indianapolis - The only question is 3, 4, or 5 TD passes for
Peyton Manning. Pick: COLTS

Cincinnati at Baltimore - So much for the Benglas playing better defense -
they go out and put up the 3rd highest scoring game in NFL History.
Suffice to say that playing the Ravens will be quite the culture shock for
them. Pick: RAVENS

San Francisco at St. Louis - Its official, after losing to Miami, the 49ers
are the worst team in football. Pick: RAMS

Buffalo at Miami - As bad as Miami is, they might be good enough to win the
NFC West, against which they are 2-2, and very nearly 3-1. Sadly fo them,
this is the AFC East Pick: BILLS

Denver at San Diego - The Chargers could all-but lock up the division with
a win here. The Broncos, meanwhile, really blew one at home to the hated
Raiders on Sunday night thanks to some atrocious clock management.... not
that anybody seems to have noticed. The Broncos should play very well,
but the Chargers are at home, and they're starting to believe. Not bad
for a team many predicted to be the worst team in football this year.
Pick: CHARGERS

Oakland at Kansas City - I'm just going to close my eyes, and hope that
this Chiefs team plays through the disappointment of this season and shows
up in Oakland. Pick: CHIEFS

Green Bay at Philadelphia - Interesting tidbit I read this week - the
Eagles have beaten every NFC team on their schedule by 10+ points. The
Packers are playing well, and will be out to avenge their collapse here in
last year's playoffs, but the Eagles are just way too good. Pick: EAGLES

NY Giants at Washington - Suffice to say, this game won't be topping
Bengals-Browns from last week in offensive production. Pick: REDSKINS

Pittsburgh at Jacksonville - Byron Leftwich has returned for the Jaguars,
and Jacksonville will be playing for their playoff lives. Meanwhile, the
Jaguars' most-excellent run defense is going to force the Pittsburgh
Steelers into the air. Pick: JAGUARS

Dallas at Seattle - How much worse can things get for the Seahawks?
They're about to run into a Cowboys team that is now completely different
with Julius Jones in the backfield. And just like that the NFC West leader
will be 6-6.... Pick: COWBOYS UPSET SPECIAL
