I was out running errands during a good chunk of the evening and
listened to the game on my car radio. It was surreal, waiting for that
last out as I was driving home in patchy fog on fairly rural roads....
I haven't been this psyched about the postseason in 18 years. (I can
remember being very bleary-eyed, listening to a game on a car radio, and
realizing a couple of minutes after the game ended that the Sox had beat
the Angels. I can remember watching the TV, sitting in a beanbag chair,
joining the crowd jeering "Darryl... Darryl... Darryl..." I can
remember the generic nacho chips I ate with my father during various
games. And I'm hoping not to relive the disappointment I can remember.)
