Fair enough, they got this one wrong. ># 74% believe Bush favors including labor and >environmental standards in agreements on trade. I don't think that this is so beyond the pale. Bush doesn't favor including *Democrats'* labor an environmental standards in trade agreements, but I am pretty sure that Bush does not believe that trade agreements should have no labor and environmental standards. At any rate, this issue is so far removed from the public discourse, it would be completely understandable for people to be misinformed on this issue, even if it were true. ># 72% believe Iraq had WMD or a program to develop >them. This is true. I don't know what the other 28% were thinking. ># 72% believe Bush supports the treaty banning >landmines. Also technically true... Bush supports *a* treaty banning landmines, until it was hijacked by anti-American activisits. ># 69% believe Bush supports the Comprehensive Test Ban >Treaty. O.k., you got one.... but again, this issue is hardly being covered on the daily evening news. ># 61% believe if Bush knew there were no WMD he would >not have gone to war. Pure speculation, so I'm not sure what this shows. ># 60% believe most experts believe Iraq was providing >substantial support to al Qaeda. > ># 58% believe the Duelfer report concluded that Iraq >had either WMD or a major program to develop them. Also true. Unless of course you are going to quibble about the word "major," in which case the methodology of this survey is seriously called into question. ># 57% believe that the majority of people in the world >would prefer to see Bush reelected. Who cares? ># 56% believe most experts think Iraq had WMD. Also true. After all, Iraq *did* have WMD. They *used* them. ># 55% believe the 9/11 report concluded Iraq was >providing substantial support to al Qaeda. > ># 51% believe Bush supports the Kyoto treaty. Again, correct on the last two..... although I would point out that Kerry supporters would get a lot of questions wrong too..... I woudl also point out that this survey got a lot of curious results.... like a majority of Americans supporting the Kyoto Treaty and ditching the US veto in the UNSC. Since we know that the these two results are just plain wrong, it kind of calls the whole survey into question. It is worth noting that this survey was also taken with a specific agenda in mind... I *know* that if was citing a survey conducted by a pro-life organization you would reject it out of hand, so why are you and Doug so eager to cite this survey that happens to agree with your pre-conceived notions? JDG - What percentage of Kerry supporters believe that Kerry would continue the Mexico City policy, for example? _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
