Science fiction on television is never excellent, but this is
pretty good.
The show is basically L.A. Law, translated to the 2030's.
The cases are interesting, and usually highlight current social
issues by presenting them in a new context. So far, there's
been a singer ejected from a perennially young rock band for
refusing anti-aging treatments, a thorny case involving cloning,
a virtual rape (tried as a tort), and a case involving potentially
deadly cerebral enhancements. Good stuff. Not heavy-handed, with
few plot problems if any.
I read a review that objected to the characters as being
essentially lifted from L.A. Law. It's true, they are. But this
does provide a lot of what I find funny in the show. One knows
the types well, so it's fun to watch them run into the pitfalls
of their era.

However, if they bring on Diana Muldaur, then get rid of her by dropping her down a space elevator . . .
