Well yeah. That's why this has zero chance of happening. I also believe
that McCain strongly supported the war, and did not abandon our troops in
Iraq when it came time to vote for funding the reconstruction..... unlike
certain prominent Democratic Presidentical candidates.
You also have to wonder if McCain would *really* switch parties to ru with
a guy who was running around with Jane Fonda and accusing US troops of war
crimes while *he* was suffering in the Hanoi Hilton.
In addition, I think from Kerry's perspective, he would have to be wary of
a bottom-heavy ticket. I don't know that it does Kerry much good to
become overshadowed by his VP nominee in terms of "buzz."
Lastly, I actually doubt that it would really matter. Maybe McCain would
deliver Arizona.... When it comes right down to it, people cast their
votes for Presidential Candidates not VP Candidates, and this vote is
largely based on personal impressions of the candidate. Very rarely do
people change their votes on the basis of who is on the bottom of the ticket.
