The essay where Dr. Brin described them is easy to miss, unless you've either been reading everything Dr. Brin wrote in the last ten or twelve years, or you've been reading this list for a few years. They're listed in his essay, "The New Meme". You can find a copy here:

The five memes he describes in the essay are Feudalism, Machismo, Paranoia, "The East", and the new one, "Otherness". It's a good essay, but not so good that I'll think you're "clueless" if you haven't read it. ;-)
