Thanks for the recommendations. As for Frank Herbert, I've been anxious to read the Dune series for a while; and Clifford D. Simak has crossed my mind more than once. However, as big a sc-fi buff as I am, I don't read 100% sci-fi, 100% of the time. So it'd take me a while to get that many sci-fi authors under my belt. I try to go for the creme de la creme books/series', as my many interests and time itself inhibit me somewhat from going all out on our fav genre.
