..which I can never forget, because a very close version of it is one of my middle

The ending of the first one pissed me off because it was a missed opportunity (on par 
with, well, Episode I and II..)  As the camera pulled back to reveal Sam and Frodo 
beginning their journey across that wasteland, what I wanted to see was 2 frickin' 
seconds of Golum, skittering onto a rock a km behind them, then bam! cut to black. As 
it is, everything is all hunky-dory, they just have a big hoo-hum boring walk ahead of 
them.

I've always skipped them when reading.
