[I wonder if the council members have considered that the one
thing government at any level can do to lower the level of stress
on its citizens is *cut taxes*?]
Hmmm ... after cutting taxes, I imagine this scene in Denver ... :
Because taxes were cut, the bridges are less well repaired (as in
California, as was said recently on this list). For lack of tax
revenue, fewer police are employed. However, Joey carries a
concealed gun. Joey is 18 years old and legally an adult;
moreover, he took a gun course. Sad to say, because taxes were
cut, his high school education on shooting was not so good.
Moreover, because the rest of his education was pretty poor also
(no money in the government budget, and what there was went to
administrators), Joey lacks enough to purchase private gun
education.
Today Joey is stressed out going over a rickety bridge that was
more worrying than usual. Joey does not mind driving fast; he
figures he is a good driver, but he is not in control of when a
bridge falls down. Then, a crook tries to rob him.
Well ... Joey shoots towards the crook -- that is what you do when
a crook tries to rob you and you carry a concealed weapon, right?
Unfortunately because of his lack of training, he shoots you
instead of the crook.
You are not stressed out by this incident. You are laid out.
Think positively: You will never again miss the advantages to you of
other people receiving the benefits of multi-person purchases! You
will never again pay taxes!
