"Milky Way". According to the web search I did, the
"Way" in "Milky Way" means "road" -- something I
didn't realize until now. Like that Roman road named
the Appian Way, it wouldn't have a hyphen.

...If the Milky Way is about 100,000 ly across, then I'd say
they're in the neighborhood of 10,000 ly wide.
