Thank you

It was good. The service on the cruise ship was fantastic. But, more
important, the excursions in Alaska were really something. We stopped at
four towns, and I hiked, biked, whale watched, and kyacked during those
stops.

The highlight was probably the whale watch. We saw orca pod AG. We saw
at least 18 different members of the pod, including two males that are
almost 40 years old. We think we also saw the dominant female, who was
reported to be 55 years old. And, as an added treat, we saw rare
cooperative behavior among the younger males. Later, we saw a film in our
cabin that happened to discuss this. The most likely explanation was fish
herding.

I also saw two humpbacks while kyacking. When we got near where they
fluked down, they had swum a long ways away, though.

We also got to see the Hubberd glacier. That was very impressive. It was
calving at the time, and we saw the calving, heard the "white thunder" and
once felt the cruise ship rock from the splash.

I've got pictures, but not a website. If Steve is willing, I can send him
a couple.
