Being explicitly anti-religion in your way is JUST as disqualifying 
in my mind as being a religious fanatic (and that is how I'd classify 
the bible belt of America and much of the current US leadership, fex)

The weakness in the American system is not religion, although I'm 
willing to argue that the explicit seperatation of State and Religion 
doesn't help. No, the weakness is a codified constitution.

The codified constition limits the power of the courts in ways which 
England's non-codified one does not. Which has been made abundantly 
plain by events. The clearest example, of course, is the way abortion 
is handled over there, but things like the DMCA...well...
