I usually see something in the paper about the auction where the kids who
have been raising animals get to sell them. There's one guy who
consistently outbids everyone else on the winning bull or something, to
the tune of $100K or so in recent years. I missed that story....
(There's a ceiling on how much the kid raising the animal gets, I think
it's something like $25,000, but I could be way off; the rest is put into
a general scholarship fund and maybe gets divvied across all the
participants, or maybe you have to apply for it later when you're actually
needing scholarship money....)
