I nearly tossed it after the rape-and-then-she-falls-in-love scenario, as that is so far from real life that I couldn't stand it. I found nothing to like in the main character (I admit I haven't read the book in nearly 2 decades, so _maybe_ I'd find something that could overcome that initial disgust - but I doubt it).
