What opportunity? What nations would have supported such an insitution
as the arbiter of the solution for Iraq? I doubt that even France or
Germany would have done so, to say nothing of Iraq's neighbors.

Indeed, let me throw water on your idea with a simple QED. Such an
organization of democracies would, by definition include France. France,
however, will never agree to such an organization unless it is given a veto
power. Such a veto power is completely detrimental to efficacy of such
an organization.

QED - no such opportunity exists in the medium term.

How come you never criticize the nations that voted for 1441, but have
failed to back it up for not being serious about international organizations?

They passed the resolution calling for serious consequences. The US
undertook preparations to carry out the serious consequences called for
under the resolution. Now, they are trying to sell us out, making us pay
for the enormous cost of keeping and securing 300,000 troops over there for
many months, if not years, making us keep 300,000 of our citiziens away
from home for the same period of time, and making us suffer the effects of
the uncertainty regarding their own dithering on the war shoot up oil and
gas prices over that time as well.

Isn't this hypocrisy regarding their own resolution the far most damaging
thing that could be done to the legitimacy of such international
organizations?
