Iris recognition helps to prevent ID fraud
Just out of curiosity, would use of colored contact lenses prevent an iris scan from working? If so, the colored contact lens lobby is gonna fight this one big time... (only half kidding here)
"It is predicted that within five years every ATM in Australia will have iris recognition technology," Mr Moss said.
How will that affect tourists from other coutries? Would tourists not be able to use those ATMs unless they previously register their irises with gov.au or with the .au banking industry? Or would there be separate ATMs for tourists? Or would ATMs have to have some way to bypass the iris check for foreigners (a potentially exploitable security hole)? I'm just curious as to whether anyone in .au has thought that part of it through.
