I think the literature generally agrees that multiple abortions can be
detrimental to future pregnancies; the question at this point is, is there
future risk from just 1 abortion?
I only saw the one study cited in the article posted by JDG. Until there
are more studies on that particular issue, I'm going to accept the ACOG as
the authority on the matter (and Debbi's post backs me up on this), but if I
see a number of other studies researching the same question that have
similar results, I'll expect future editions of that ACOG book to reflect
that. :)

never had an abortion and not *really* worried about having a preterm baby,
given family histories; in fact, a baby about 3 weeks early might be a bit
of a relief, given the family trait towards large heads at birth! (Gory
details of Sammy's delivery available upon request.)
