Unfortunately, all CGI rendering and compositing were done in 4:3 and they no longer have any of the original files to rerender and recomposite. This means that any effects shots on the DVDs, including virtual sets, are actually 4:3 shots with the tops and bottoms trimmed. This seems an especially sad fate when B5 was one of the first shows filmed in 16:9.
