I stayed in a hotel on the Copa when I was in Rio.  It looked very run
down; there were hookers every block or so.  They all looked like they had
seen better days, as did the whole area.  The next day, actually, the beach
did look OK, but I was there when the sewage line was broken, and no one
could swim.
