BTW, with the Laplace resonance the three moons would
_never_ be seen close in the sky. So, Jijoans could say
something like "when the three moons are full" or
"when the three moons rise" to signify "never" :-)

Well that proves I'm not doing well tonight. I'm on the computer cuz I can't
do much else with a headace. I jumbled things up in my head and thought that
the moons moved in a ratio to each other. Wrong use of resonance.

In rereading the three Jijo novels last month, half the time I had a copy of
Contacting Aliens in my other hand. What I couldn't do the first time through
was automatically move my POV from one alien race to another. Sorta like
after taking two years of German in high school and again two years of German
in college, I still couldn't think in German.

Now I'm having a hard time putting down Contacting Aliens because I keep
asking myself why this information was included, why so little is know about
these aliens, and if this drawing is wrong or do male Pila have claws while
female Pila have fingernails.

And on seeing a cosmic Mickey Mouse? It would be a good reason to design a
planet with three large moons. Perhaps not in the Uplift universe though.
