I'm not going to attempt any prediction, but I figured I'd share who I'd
*like* to see win each matchup. :)

I'm rooting for Minnesota.
1) The owner is a former San Antonio car dealer. He's also contributed
a chunk of change to the business school at UT (University of Texas at
Austin), and not razed part of a gym to get a new building put up, so
I'll root for his team a good chunk of the time.
2) That @#$% playoff game in Carolina several seasons ago.

I'm rooting for Miami.
1) I just hate the Jets. My favorite Jet a couple of years back was
the punter, because when he came out, it meant they hadn't managed to
make a first down and weren't in field goal range.
2) When I was about 8 or so, we went to IHOP and they had magnets of
various NFL helmets at the cash register for a little less than what I
had in my pocket at the time. They were out of Patriots ones, of
course, it being New England, but I really wanted a magnet, and the
Dolphins one looked like the coolest one they had. So since then, I've
had something of a soft spot for the Dolphins.
3) Ricky Williams.

Toughie.
1) The Titans *were* the Oilers, so they *were* a Texas team.
2) My sister became something of a Browns fan, to the point of refusing
to root for the Ravens once they showed up in Baltimore.
3) So I go with the "Less Dorky Helmet Rule". I don't quite like the
Titans logo, and the Browns helmet is just a nice simple orange (what's
not to like about orange?), so I'll root for the Browns in this matchup.

Bills.
Two words: Drew Bledsoe. (And AFAIK, *he* hasn't been picked up for
DWI....)

I'm gonna root for the Cowboys every time, even if it looks futile.
Even if it looks futile halfway into the 4th quarter.

> San Diego (+1) at Arizona
> Pick: CHARGERS

Chargers as well.
If I'm just looking at rooting for specific players, no matter which QB
they start with, I'm rooting for *him*. (Flutie was at a "local" school
for me when he won the Heisman. Brees went to high school close to
here.)

Well, despite the Week 1 embarassment, I'll root for the Texas team.
Besides, as Jimmy Kimmel pointed out, the logo looks like the offspring
of the Patriots logo and the Texas Longhorn, one of which I grew up
rooting for and the other which I grew up *to* root for. :)

> Green Bay at Detroit

Packers.
(Brett Favre is cute, whatever else is going on, and he wins a
reasonable number of games.)

> Kansas City (+8.5) at New England
> Pick: PATRIOTS and to cover

The Pats. I grew up rooting for them, insofar as I was paying any
attention to football, and as long as they're not playing the Cowboys,
I'm likely to do so.

> Seattle (+6) at NY Giants
> Pick: SEAHAWKS

Seahawks, because I hate the Giants. :)

> New Orleans (+2.5) at Chicago
> Pick: SAINTS

I'll pick the *other* team owned by a former San Antonio car dealer.
Saints. (Also, after the Superbowl of January 1986, I have to be
desperate to root for the Bears.)

> Washington (+6.5) at San Francisco
> Pick: 49'ERS and to cover

I don't like either. I'll root for the defense on both teams, and in a
horrible fit of meanness, I might even root for an injury to Owens.

> Cincinnati (+7.5) at Atlanta
> Pick: FALCONS and to cover

Falcons. Vick. I'm looking forward to seeing this game this evening,
or at least as much of it as I'll get to see. (The getting-Sammy-to-bed
process goes from 9 to 10.)

> St. Louis at Tampa Bay (+1)
> Pick: BUCCANEERS

I'll be rooting for the Bucs. And enjoying the sound of Al Michael's
voice. :)
