What risks are you talking about? Wouldn't Patton's view on being a soldier be more realistic? 'Make the other guy think he's giving up his life for his country.', if he actually said that or it was a screenwriter's fancy. Our soldiers are, for the most part, highly trained. They aren't serfs being used as cannon fodder to wear down the other side before the 'real' soldiers go into a battle. Some will die when we go to war with Iraq, it may be tens, to thousands.
