Hi David,
If I understand the situation, it tells me that the neutralization of
your final(s) is a bit off on that particular band.
Unless it's a big difference (how big??) then most mfgrs say to tune
for max output power, to reduce the power dissipation in the tube.
Sounds like your "slightly" isn't a big dif.

By tuning for maximum indicated CW power out I can get a slightly higher
reading on my plate amp meter when I tune for maximum indication on my
scope compared to the watt meter in my Collins station console.
