That's as it should be. If you want to reply to an individual, you click
Reply and your response goes to that individual.
If you want to reply to the entire group, click Reply to All.
That way, personal responses don't go out to the entire list unless you
intend them to.

Not exactly. There is something wrong or something has changed with
the mailing list. I just tried replying to a message, from this list,
from several months ago and it would have gone to the list.

That is what is missing. Replying to any previous message would have
gone to the list. Now, because something got substituted, any reply
goes the person writing the e-mail.
